Meet Up with Anthropologist Dr. Jackie Prime


About this event

Why does modern life make so many people feel disconnected from nature, from each other, and sometimes from themselves?


This casual anthropology meetup will be led by Dr. Jackie Prime, Prime Earth’s Executive Director and Chief Scientist. Jackie is an anthropologist who spent 10 years studying gibbons, primate behaviour, cognition, and evolutionary adaptation before founding Prime Earth. Her work explores the evolutionary relationships between humans and other animals, including behaviour, cognition, adaptation, and how we make sense of our place in the living world.


We’ll start with a short talk from Jackie about a simple but powerful idea: humans are not separate from nature, but many parts of modern life make us feel like we are. She’ll talk about how culture shapes what feels “normal,” why disconnection is not a personal failure, and what…
