GET INVOLVED!

Social Media Positions - Job Description

Are you a social media master who obsesses over your Twitter feed and absolutely

adores the Valencia filter on Instagram? Are generating #hashtag frenzies and Facebook photo albums some of your favourite past-times? Are you passionate about volunteer service? Then we want you!

We’re looking for creative and conscientious individuals to join our social media team to help manage and deliver all social media activities for Prime Earth and Gibbon Guardians.

Duties Include:
  • Managing Prime Earth’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts (i.e. tweeting, sharing, engaging, liking, increasing social reach, etc.).

  • Attracting and interacting with targeted virtual communities and network users.

  • Communicating in a professional, but unique social media “voice” for Prime Earth.

  • Creating social media campaigns and calls-to-action that drive target audience to our sites and generate leads for our programs and services.

  • Daily engagement with our network’s target audiences by sharing content and finding ways to grow followership.

  • Implementing Social Media SEO tactics aligned with our organization’s keyword and SEO strategies. (We will teach you how to do this.)

  • Conducting and updating a digital footprint analysis for Prime Earth’s online presence. (We will teach you how to do this.)

Skill Set Needed:
  • WORDSMITH - You are a writer who knows how to craft crisp, engaging, and positive copy. We’re looking for someone who believes the glass is half full and knows there is always hope when it comes to conservation and animal welfare issues. If you have a gift for writing humorous, light-hearted, and conversational prose, this position is for you!

  • DESIGN DYNAMO - You know your way around Photoshop and know how to visualize data. We’re looking for someone who can dazzle us when it comes to digital design. If you have a gift for creating compelling infographics, engaging visual content, and are confident when it comes to graphic design, we need your digital talent!

  • SOCIAL MEDIA MASTER - You know the ropes when it comes to social media. We're looking for someone who can swing with graceful gibbon-like acrobatic ease through the intricate and intertwined web of Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram on social media. If you have a gift for positive and uplifting engagement with others on social media, let's connect and get things going!

Will we be a good fit for each other?

Here’s a few reasons why you’d want to join our team:

  • You think normal is boring. You’re self-motivated, hungry for a challenge, and looking to

    make an immediate impact.

  • You are fully engrained in social media culture and understand the fine line of managing a professional, but effective social media presence.

  • You want to work hard and be part of a fun, growing nonprofit.

  • You like working from home… even in your pajamas at times.

  • You have a strong understanding of web technology and how it supports marketing.

  • You like writing, are good at it, and have strong proofreading capabilities.

  • You are organized, can work independently, and your attention to detail is impeccable.

  • You believe that educating and empowering people to understand that all of life on earth has value is important for creating a better, more compassionate world.

  • You want to get involved and make a difference in your local and global community.

Let's get things started!

  • Time commitment:

- 8 to 16 hours/week

- Minimum of 3 month commitment

- Possibility for extension

  • These positions are available for local or distant (global) volunteers.
